Through Emerge Education’s 36-week Clinical Medical Professional certificate program, you’ll be qualified to sit for the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant Certification, the Certified Medical Administrative Assistant Certification, the Certified EKG Technician, and the Certified Phlebotomy Technician exams.

Clinical medical professionals provide essential services to the day-to-day functions of medical practices while ensuring that offices and clinics run smoothly. As a clinical medical professional, duties you may be responsible for include updating patient records, handling laboratory specimens, taking and recording patient vitals, and stocking exam rooms with supplies.

In order to participate in this program you’ll need a High School Diploma or GED and Web browser with internet connection. This training requires students to complete a minimum of 10 EKGs on a live person and 30 venipuncture and 10 capillary sticks on live individuals to sit for their certification exams.

Through this training, you’ll be able to:

• administer medications and assist with minor procedures
• collect blood and non-blood specimens for testing and analyzing in a clinical laboratory
• use diagnostic cardiac testing, including electrocardiograms and Holter monitors
• assist cardiologists with stress testing
• comply with HIPAA/HITECH, OSHA, CMS, and other healthcare regulations and laws as they apply to patient information
