Through Emerge Education’s 24-week Healthcare IT Technician certificate program, you will be prepared to work as a successful Healthcare IT Technician. Students in the Healthcare IT Technician program have two certification paths to choose from.

Those who opt for a healthcare focus will concentrate on Electronic Health Records and CompTIA A+ certification and prepare for the Electronic Health Records Specialist Certification (CEHRS) and A+ exams.

The more technical focus will concentrate on Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA A+) and Network+ certifications, the preferred certifications for technical support and IT roles.

Healthcare IT Technicians are responsible for keeping IT systems updated and secure, reviewing reports, compiling statistics, and managing patient data.

In order to participate in this program, you’ll need a High School Diploma or GED and a Web browser with an internet connection.

Through this training, you’ll be able to:

• manage and troubleshoot a basic network infrastructure using common ports and networking protocols
• install and manage wired and wireless networks
• adhere to standards and use modern testing tools, assess security risks, and identify potential threats to hardware, software, and physical location
• conduct risk mitigation for systems, hardware, and peripherals
• implement disaster recovery procedures and security contingency plans
