Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

Through Emerge Education’s 4-week Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certificate program, you will be prepared to sit for the Information Systems Security Professional Certification (CISSP) exam.

A CISSP is highly regarded in data security, showcasing extensive experience and expertise in various domains related to secure IT infrastructure. In order to participate in this program, you’ll need a High School Diploma or GED and a web browser with an internet connection. Candidates for admission into this program are required to have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of IT security. Students with less than five years of experience may take the CISSP exam but are NOT eligible to obtain the status of CISSP until the experience requirements are met.

This program is NOT available to residents of the following states: WI, ND, RI, LA, and GA. It is not recognized by the Georgia Nonpublic Postsecondary Education Commission (GNPEC), and therefore, residents of the State of Georgia are NOT eligible for enrollment.

Through this training, you’ll be able to:

• explain the eight domains of the CISSP Body of Knowledge (BOK)
• discuss basic security, information security governance, and risk management concepts
• understand the importance of ethics in information security and compliance with legal and regulatory issues
• assess best practices for managing and reducing security risks associated with various frameworks, networks and technology structures of an enterprise
• understand the role of personnel security documentation as well as policies and procedures
• evaluate the impact of high-level procedures, structures and standards used in defining, designing and implementing information technology
