Through Emerge Education’s 28-week Medical Assistant certificate program, you are eligible to take the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) and Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) exams issued by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).

Medical assistants often work in fast-paced environments, helping to ensure that patient care and office operations run smoothly. From processing intake to recording vital signs, their daily schedules always include many essential tasks.

In order to participate in this program you’ll need a High School Diploma or GED and a web browser with internet connection.

  • Comprehend the use of diagnosis and procedure codes as they relate to electronic health records
  • Recognize the importance of infection control and environmental safety in general, specialty, and surgical practices
  • Understand specimen collection techniques, cardiopulmonary testing, pharmacology and medication administration
  • Administer medications and assist with minor procedures
  • Record vital signs, take medical histories, and prepare patients and rooms for examinations
