Through Emerge Education’s 14-week Medical Billing Professional certificate program, you’ll be prepared for the Medical Coder & Biller Certification (MCBC) exam.
A medical billing specialist takes information from patient records relating specifically to procedures, symptoms, and diagnoses and submits claims for insurance reimbursement. They are an integral part of the medical insurance and claims process.
In order to participate in this program you’ll need a High School Diploma or GED and a web browser with internet connection.
Through this training, you’ll be able to:
- Recognize ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers and how to utilize them for billing
- Complete and submit health insurance claims accurately
- Audit medical billing
- Prevent fraud and abuse by assigning diagnostic and procedure codes
- Submit clean claims for reimbursement
