Through Emerge Education’s 18-week Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach certificate program, you’ll be qualified to sit for the Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) certification exam and the Certified Nutrition Coach (CNC) certification exam offered by the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).
Personal trainers and nutrition coaches work with individuals and groups in a fitness and nutrition capacity. They evaluate their clients’ fitness levels and create a plan based on their current abilities and goals. Adding the nutrition coach certification alongside the personal training certification allows the trainer to provide an even more nuanced training program for their client that includes nutrition.
In order to participate in this program and prior to sitting for the exam, you’ll need:
- Suitable vision and hearing (normal or corrected)
- Suitable psychomotor skills, hand-eye coordination, and finger agility
- Ability to stand for an extended period
- Current Emergency Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Certification
Through this training, you’ll be able to:
- Gain knowledge of medical terminology, disease processes, and anatomy and physiology
- Demonstrate an understanding of the soft skill expectations of an allied healthcare professional
- Master health and fitness topics, including nutrition, program design, human movement science, and fitness assessments
- Learn and practice teaching, customer service, and first aid skills
- Develop organizational and communication skills
